01 Who can be there?
An elopement can be just the two of you, or include the family and friends who matter most. You might choose to have your parents, siblings or a handful of close friends there. The size of the ceremony is up to you — the idea is simply to keep the day focused on the people who matter.
02 How personal can it be?
A simple ceremony can still be completely personal. I can write your ceremony around your story, your relationship and the things that matter to you, with your own vows, readings, music or other meaningful details included if you’d like them.
03 Where can we have it?
You can have an elopement or simple ceremony somewhere that feels meaningful to you. That might be a beach, private garden, your home, a favourite restaurant or another location that suits the two of you. The setting can be as relaxed and uncomplicated as the ceremony itself.
04 What actually happens during the ceremony?
Your ceremony can be as simple or personal as you’d like. We’ll agree on the structure beforehand, and I’ll lead you through the ceremony on the day, including the legal wording, your vows and any readings or other elements you’ve chosen. We’ll then complete the required legal documents with your witnesses.
05 Is an elopement different from a small wedding?
Not necessarily. An elopement is often simply a smaller, more private way of getting married, while a small wedding might include a few more guests or a more traditional celebration. There isn’t a single way an elopement has to look — what matters is creating a ceremony that feels right for you.
